how much does it cost to buy a house on my small caribbean island i'm gonna go look at two of them that are up for sale so come along let's go find out it'll be fun this is my friend julie she's a fantastic real estate agent and what have you got to show us here come this way wow what do you think about maybe waking up every morning sitting here with your morning coffee this is unbelievable how how much shoreline do you have here you have 192 feet of beachfront 2.68 acres and how much do they want for them you want 489 thousand dollars wait to see inside beautiful honduran pine you've got three beds and two baths upstairs and you have an additional apartment downstairs that's completely separate completely separate entrance and you can use that to get some rental income while you subsidize your costs here this is one of the bedrooms that they're using as an office and look at the window here that is protected mangroves that compile the 2.68 acres of this property so you own what's in the back so you're never going to have any neighbors overlooking the ocean so you're going to lie in bed at night and look at that ocean and hear those waves yeah and even this way so it's nice is this is a cove so you see have a water view from this side too and the property goes all the way to that fence selling out there beautiful rock fence yes what a beautiful sunset back there but one of my favorite things about this house is like mine it's off grid so you produce all your own electricity and you can collect your own rainwater completely separate one bedroom apartment for guests for family you don't want to leave your mom back in the states bring her down she can come and live with you and have her privacy completely open this is great and then out the back you've still got that amazing view of the mangroves back there this is my favorite part that is the solar battery system and on this side that's your water catchment so you can be off grid this is the solar farm and that's a really nice system if 192 feet isn't enough you can buy an extra lot next to it and own this whole 3.11 acres for just another hundred thousand dollars so you'd never have to worry about a neighbor behind you or to the side correct it's an amazing house wait till i show you the next one which is this one julie this one is 4.99 and how many bedrooms this has four beds and three baths it's kind of like a loft bedroom so it's debatable whether we call it a bedroom and it's got an apartment downstairs as well completely separate apartment with a king-size bed man you're making me feel bad about my view now look at this oh you can look it up on the map this is paradise cove at utila so this is inside and that whole wall is just glass so you can sit there eat dinner and look out at that view this is a guest bedroom and the problem with this is when your guests roll over and see that incredible view every day they'll never leave unlike the last house this one is on grid so it has public utilities like electricity and sewer and water the things i don't think people are used to is when you buy a home here it's usually turnkey right so what does that mean it means all the furnishings that you see are all included it's turnkey bring your toothbrush you move in this is set up with a bedroom but this is where i would make my painting studio because you could come out when you're frustrated and have this amazing view and this is the principal bedroom that is your view from bed i'd never get out of bed back there a bathtub one of the very bathtub there are no bathtubs on utila i know right oh my god look at that you guys don't know what a luxury item this is nice big closet put all your dive gear and then it opens up onto that the garden deck so when you're in trouble you get kicked out of the house you can just go sleep there right if you like your privacy you can buy this home and this lot over here is available you can buy that too for two hundred thousand dollars and then you get all of that extra space
