This is how you plant blueberry in a barrel. Make sure your barrel have a good draining hose. Use lava rock for good drainage. It's nice and porous, inch or two on the bottom. Blueberries need acidic soil. And my secret to success, sand. Use as a place sand or wash sand. Mix in the soil with the sand 100% mix. We use three part soils and one part sand. It's blueberry time. This is my trick to planting in pots. Use the empty pot to make the mold. Fill the soil around the pot. Pack the soil a little bit around to get the air packets out. Now the magic trick. Get the pot out to get the same mold as the size of the plant. Use the starter fertilizer at the bottom and the hole for the root system. If it's root bound, pinch the roots a little bit around to make it new ones grow. Same level and ready to go. Magic. In fall, they change the color of the leaves. In spring, there's pink flowers and summer fruits. We recommend planting two different blueberries varieties near each other. This help more pollination and more fruits.
