How to build a simple shed in 90 seconds. #WAYW...
Let me teach you how I built this shed with all the products from the Home Depot. Starting from the ground up and using treated lumber, I laid out the outside of my frame, then filled in the inside of the frame using 16-inch spacing. It's important to make sure that your frame is both level and square. I'll leave a full material list with all the measurements, and you can have the Home Depot delivery service bring everything right to your house. I'm fussy about my lumber, so I like to go to the store and look at each piece. I'm building this shed with a single slope roof, and everything is on a 5-degree angle. For that reason, I assemble both the sides first, because that'll give me the measurements for the height of the front and the back wall. I assembled the outside frame first, then I set all the rest of the studs 16 inches apart. For the front wall, I wanted two windows, and of course, you gotta have a door. So I assembled three separate sections, then attached them to both the floor and the side wall. I installed half-inch sheeting to my frame and wrapped it like a giant present. Now it's time for the siding. I measure and trim each panel as I work my way around the shed. I use an air nailer because I can't drive a nail straight to save my life. I wanted a two-foot overhang around all four sides, so I had to assemble the two outermost roof sections on the ground, but needed some extra muscle to help me lift them up into position. I attach the roof to the sidewalls with hurricane ties. It's been a long time since I installed a metal roof, so I used Home Depot's how-to guide to give me a quick refresher course. This is also a good time to remind you that you can use the Home Depot app to find what island bay your product is located. Saves time. I laid down some roofing felt paper, then I attached my metal roof panels one by one, overlapping them as I went. The last steps were to add some windows, doors, and some trim. I didn't remember what hinges I used, so I used image search on the Home Depot app. Now remember, I can break down all the steps for you later, but my goal here was to show you that you can take on a project like this and finish it yourself. It's a lot of fun and very rewarding.
