I have seen a lot of videos stating that we were moved to Meta’s servers so let’s talk about why none of that holds water #tec#techt#metak#tiktok

No, we are not now on Meta's server suddenly after the 15 hour outage, and I'm going to explain how we know that. Hi, if you don't know who I am, I'm the bearded IT guy. I spent a decade working as a sysadmin and pretty much the head of IT for multiple different nonprofits until I got burnt out. Then I created my own business where I work contract IT and I repair computers most of the time. And now I'm going to teach you guys exactly what's going on and why TikTok has been acting glitchy since we got back online today. So first things first, a lot of people have been saying that videos look fuzzy and that is a sign that we are on different servers or they are messing with the algorithm so we don't see some of the content that we would normally see. The reason that videos are looking fuzzy is because servers are coming back online and they're trying to get you that data as fast as possible. But because there's only a few servers and a lot of you guys looking at videos, it means that it is going to take a while until you get the high definition version of the videos. Now, before you ask, the reason you see some high def videos before you got to those fuzzy videos is because your phone actually had some videos cached in its system or you were one of the lucky ones that it was starting to feed you the high res videos before it started getting crashes and other issues because a lot of people are connecting. One of the other ones that I have seen is people talking about how we can't go live yet. And yes, some of us can't go live. I've seen a couple of people who have gone live, but that is most likely as another content creator said, probably a system that is not back online yet because it's probably one that has to relate to another company that is helping them make that possible. But wait, I hear you say, how do we know that we aren't on meta servers now? The whole thing was down for 15 hours. That's plenty enough time to do a server switch because this person said it takes about 15 hours for you to migrate over to a different server. I've done plenty of migrations and plenty of migrations for like video production companies. And guess what? It doesn't take any time at all. You just have all the stuff migrate in the backend and ready for them to be set up once the flip happens and you just flip that switch. And if you did it right, it just happens. We've actually seen this on TikTok before because we went from being on TikTok servers to being over on Oracle servers. Anyone remember when the downtime was for that one? Because I remember when it happened and there wasn't downtime. We saw a little bit of glitchiness and a few other things that people are seeing now, but we did not see massive downtime because it didn't need it. But wait, there's this notification that says my video is under review. What's that all about? That must mean that they're now censoring stuff, right? No, that's actually a normal thing that we've seen in the past. I've actually talked to other creators when this has happened in the past. Usually it's something we only see when there's major infrastructure outages or when there's a lot of people uploading all at the same time because it is just their automated system taking a little bit longer than they expected. So they just let you know, hey, this is taking a little bit longer than normal because normally the time it takes is about five seconds. Normally it's the time when you're creating the caption down at the bottom. So we're just seeing it now because the servers have been under such load and not all the servers have been up. Now that it's later in the day, you won't see that as much. And tomorrow, I'm pretty sure no one will see it. There's a lot of different creators who are saying that this thing is happening. They definitely switched it over to this server and I can prove it. But then when you actually look at their proof, it doesn't really go anywhere. It's just a lot of conjecture and a lot of theories that don't hold any water. But the main problem is this is actually covering up what is actually going on. Pretty much most of this was a social engineering campaign, and I can actually tell you about that in the next video.
